Kaone Kario graces Essence Magazine in Jewel By Lisa!

Don’t you just love the way African models just keep popping up on the international fashion scene of late? From the runways to endorsing enormous campaigns to gracing magazine editorials and everything in between.

Kaone Kario, a Botswana born model that was recently based in Cape Town but now resides in New York is another model of such. Kaone is featured in an editorial for Essence Magazine‘s February issue. In the editorial Kario spots a classic white shirt paired with a Jewel by Lisa trousers. It seems she’s doing quite well for someone who once told me how difficult it is for African models to break into the New York market. Some of her previous work includes print and television adverts for Nivea and Truworths, appearing in Elle and Glamour magazines and walking in various prestigious fashion shows in Europe.
